Is Pocket Pandit™ free?
Yes. The Panchang, Choghadiya, muhurat alerts, calendar, japa counter and your full birth chart are free to use. The app is supported by modest banner ads. Your first question to a human Pandit is free too — after that a consultation is ₹51, charged securely in the app.
Where do the calculations come from?
From the Swiss Ephemeris — the same astronomical engine used by professional astrology software — running locally on your phone, with the Lahiri ayanamsa for sidereal positions and your device's location for sunrise, sunset and house cusps.
Does my birth data leave my phone?
No. Panchang and Kundli are computed entirely on-device; your birth details are never uploaded. The one exception is a consultation, where the details you choose to send are shared with the Pandit answering you.
Is this Vedic or Western astrology?
Vedic (Jyotish) throughout — sidereal zodiac, twelve rashis, twenty-seven nakshatras, Vimshottari dasha. No sun-sign horoscope columns.
